FISH Indicator
Good FISH is an initiative of Stichting De Noordzee. The first
FISH Indicator appeared in 2004. The FISH Indicator 2009/2010 is
the fourth edition and a publication from the Stichting De Noordzee
and the World Wildlife Fund.
Stichting De Noordzee is the independent nature and environmental
organisation dedicated to durable use of the North Sea and a sound
sea filled with fish, dolphins and other marine life. Their target
areas are: shipping, durable fishing, use of space at sea, (green)
energy and protected areas.
Of old the Stichting De Noordzee has been primarily active 'behind
the scenes'. Lobbying in The Hague and Brussels. Looking for
specific solutions to important problems together with the users of
the North Sea. And, if needed, they take matters to court to compel
change. You could say that the Stichting De Noordzee is the
attorney for the sea.
More and more often the Stichting De Noordzee shows to a wider
audience how special the North Sea is, how we work to protect it
and what people themselves can do for a clean, sound and safe North
Sea.
