Extra benefits for season ticket holders!
Burgers' Zoo has utilised the past few months to realise extra benefits to show our appreciation to our regular visitors: the season ticket holders. The renewal of a season ticket will be a lot more beneficial starting since January 2010. In addition to this, season ticket holders of Burgers' Zoo now get 50% discount on the normal entrance fees of Artis, Dierenpark Emmen and Diergaarde Blijdorp, when they show their valid season tickets. But there are many other benefits your season ticket will give you.
Beneficial renewal of season tickets
Season ticket holders, who renew their membership within 3 months after expiration, will get a 10% discount on the normal fees of a new membership! Suppose your season ticket expires in May of 2011, then you will have to renew your membership at the latest in August 2011 to be eligible for the discount. This special action started on 1 January 2010 and therefore only concerns people who already have a membership. Season ticket holders who coincidentally already renewed their membership in January of 2011 will get the discount at the membership register on their next visit.
When you renew your season ticket again in 2012 you will get no less than 15% discount, so an additional discount of 5% on top of it. This benefit system will be in force for the coming years, each year with 5%, until you have accumulated a discount of 25% on the normal fees of your season ticket. The condition to be eligible for the extra discount is that you will have to renew straight away (without intervals) starting 2012.
50% discount at Artis, Dierenpark Emmen and Diergaarde Blijdorp
Artis, Burgers' Zoo, Dierenpark Emmen and Diergaarde Blijdorp are the four largest zoos in The Netherlands. Upon showing your valid season ticket for 2011 you will get 50% discount on the normal entrance fees of Artis, Dierenpark Emmen and Diergaarde Blijdorp. Remember, only the season ticket holder himself gets this discount: as a family you will have to show all membership passes with a visit to one of these three colleague-zoos! You can make use of this special action as often as you like in 2011. If the action is a success it may possibly be renewed in 2012.
New! 25% discount Apenheul, Dutch Open Air museum and National Park 'De Hoge Veluwe'
Burgers’ Zoo has already been working together pleasantly with three good neighbours in Gelderland for years: the Dutch Open Air Museum, The National Park 'De Hoge Veluwe' and Apenheul. With these three well-known daytime attractions has been agreed that the Burgers’ Zoo season ticket holders receive a 25% discount on the normal entrance price, when showing their valid Burgers’ Zoo season tickets. Only the card holder has a right to the discount.
Dutch Open Air Museum, The National Park ‘De Hoge Veluwe’ and Apenheul
The Dutch Open Air Museum is literally our neighbour. In 2005 the Dutch Open Air Museum was proclaimed European Museum of the Year: a well-deserved prize for the interactive structure that makes the museum an experience for both young and old people. In 1912 a number of ‘concerned’ individuals in Arnhem founded an Open Air Museum. They saw that due to the increasing industrialisation and urbanisation a wealth of Dutch traditions and regional differences were in danger of being lost forever. The Dutch Open Air Museum is a national museum about the culture of the daily life of ordinary people.
The National Park ‘De Hoge Veluwe’ is the largest actively controlled, privately owned nature reserve in the Netherlands. The nature of The National Park ‘De Hoge Veluwe’ is, to put it mildly, quite impressive. At the Park beautiful landscapes alternate: magnificent fields of heather and grassy plains turn into sandy landscapes and deciduous and pine forests, divided across 5,400 hectares. There is a large diversity of animals and plants, including extremely rare types. The level roads and the magnificent landscapes make the National Park ‘De Hoge Veluwe’ extremely suitable for a nice bicycle ride. Visitors can use the White Bicycles of the Park free of charge, or they can bring their own bicycles.
Apenheul shares Burgers’ Zoo’s philosophy that animals should be housed as naturally and as free as possible. In 2011 the monkey park will exist 40 years. Naturally this will be celebrated with a season filled with festive occasions. With activities, looks behind the scenes and lots of extras. Great for visitors! And the monkeys? Well... they keep on doing what they do best. For example, the impressive, young gorilla male Jambo has his own celebration ... No less than five new gorilla babies are expected in 2011. A unique event! Apenheul has changed significantly over the past few years. Those who have not been there a while will certainly be amazed. When was the last time you walked around between monkeys?
Discounts at other NVD zoos
Fifteen different zoos are a member of the Nederlandse Vereniging van Dierentuinen (NVD= Dutch Organisation of Zoos). In addition to the special discount at Artis, Dierenpark Emmen and Diergaarde Blijdorp you also get a standard discount at the other NVD zoos in 2011. On the website of the NVD you can see which zoos are members of the NVD. www.nvddierentuinen.nl. On this website you can also find an overview of the discounts season ticket holders will get at each individual NVD zoo.
Free entrance to events and lectures
As season ticket holder you get free access to the Summer (evening) Adventures (July and August) and Winter (evening) Adventures (December) Burgers' Zoo organises annually when you show your membership pass. You will also get free access to all evening lectures that take place at the Safari Meeting Centre in the spring and in the autumn. With respect to the evening lectures, you do need to reserve a seat in advance (per e-mail: info@burgerszoo.nl or by telephone: 026 - 445 03 73) in connection with the available seating capacity.
