The largest indoor mangrove in the world

The air cushions are made by Foiltec, which previously also installed these extraordinary air cushions on the roofs of both the Bush and the Desert. Foiltec is currently working in the Moeskops factories to install the frames for the air cushions directly onto the arch structures. Practically speaking, it is a lot easier to do install them directly in the factory, instead of doing so from 15 metres in the air later. Foiltec’s air cushions are designed to allow in as much sunlight as possible to allow the plants to absorb the necessary vitamin D. The cushions must also be strong and able to take a beating: they need to withstand heavy hailstorms and support a blanket of snow of up to one metre thick. The air cushions for the mangrove are being designed in strips of around three metres wide and up to thirty metres long.

Important information

In our park we take various measures to guarantee the appropriate distance of 1.5 meters. For example, we use a maximum number of visitors per day. In order to safeguard this maximum, it is necessary that all visitors (including subscribers) reserve online access to the park in advance.
