We will still be closed to visitors on Easter 2020 as a precaution. We have found a creative solution for these exception circumstances: we will be broadcasting lifelike footage of its animals into Dutch living rooms for 7 hours. We have temporarily installed a camera in the savanna and is sharing the footage of the animals through our YouTube channel.
If the mountain won’t come to Muhammed, Muhammed must go to the mountain, as the story goes. We are trying to bring the animals from our zoo to people’s homes as much as possible with our in-house video productions. We have had an in-house filmmaker for several years now who, along with material from zookeepers, provides a steady stream of new video material for its social media channels.
Inspired by the serene and relaxed atmosphere in a zoo without the usual flow of visitors, our marketing and communication department has developed a new online video series: “Silent Zoo”. The video series fits in with the growing trend of ASMR videos online: viewers are presented with soothing and relaxing video images, often from nature. The new footage being published today complements Silent Zoo with African ungulates such as giraffes, zebras, rhinos and antelopes.
We produce a large amount of educational content every year. We now offer hundreds of hours of footage on our YouTube channel and publishes new content on our Facebook page every day. We are also active on Instagram and Twitter and regularly publishe new articles on ourwebsite.
