In cooperation with World of Dino BV, Burgers' Zoo staff are installing 17 giant dinosaurs throughout the park this week. One of the eye-catching sculptures is a ten-metre-long and nearly four-metre-tall Tyrannosaurus rex. As a symbolic finishing touch to the preparations, the upper body of this behemoth will be hoisted into place and installed using heavy equipment on Thursday, 25 September. 'Dino's in the Zoo' will run from Saturday, 27 September, to Tuesday, 4 November 2025.
For weeks, the Education and Marketing & Communications departments have been working on designing and writing signage, banners and other communication materials to match 'Dinos in the Zoo' with Burgers' Zoo's style. An educational approach was chosen, presented through graphics and illustrations designed in-house in an appealing format.
“Experience is at the heart of everything we organise at Burgers' Zoo,” says marketing manager Kim Huijing. “We want our visitors to marvel and enjoy the animals and nature in our park together. In addition to presenting factual information, our signs spark curiosity with fun facts and comparisons to living animal species. Children and adults can dig up their own dinosaur bones and eggs and feed leaves to the stegostaurus in the maze, if they manage to find their way.”
The 'Dino's at the Zoo' event will take place at Royal Burgers' Zoo from Saturday, 27 September, to Tuesday, 4 November 2025, during opening hours. The event is free for season ticket holders and included with an entrance ticket to the zoo. Over twenty dinosaurs representing seventeen species are on display along a central route through the zoo.
